      Description: The badge features a caduceus, symbolizing the medical profession, and is adorned with a laurel wreath, representing honor and achievement in service.

      Eligibility:

    • Awarded to soldiers in the 68W – Health Care Specialist (Combat Medic) MOS who have been assigned to a unit engaged in ground combat.
    • Must have performed medical duties while actively participating in ground combat operations.

    • Requirements:

    • Completion of Basic Combat Training (BCT): All soldiers must complete this initial training.
    • Completion of Advanced Individual Training (AIT): Medics must successfully finish AIT at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

    • Significance: The CMB recognizes the critical role that Combat Medics play on the battlefield, highlighting their bravery and commitment to saving lives during combat operations. It serves as a testament to their skills and their essential contributions to the health and safety of soldiers in the field.

    • Deployment in Combat: The medic must have participated in a combat operation where they provided medical care under fire.
