    • In the U.S. Army, the Air Assault qualification is not a specific Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) by itself, but rather a specialized skill or training that soldiers can earn. Air Assault training focuses on the ability to conduct operations involving helicopters, including troop insertions, airlifting of equipment, and various combat and logistical missions. The Air Assault School is a prestigious training program that soldiers from different MOSs can attend.

      However, soldiers who are Air Assault-qualified typically belong to specific units or MOSs that involve helicopter operations. 

    • The Air Assault School is a 10-day course designed to train soldiers in a variety of skills essential for air assault operations, including:

    • Helicopter insertion and extraction techniques
    • Airborne operations

    • This school is open to soldiers from a variety of MOSs, but it is most commonly attended by those in infantry, combat arms, or combat support roles. Upon completion, soldiers earn the Air Assault Badge and are qualified to participate in air assault operations.

    • Rappelling from helicopters
    • Aircraft safety
    • Combat assault planning and execution

    Air Assault Units:

    101st Airborne Division (Air Assault): Based at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, the 101st is one of the most famous air assault units in the Army, specializing in rapid deployment by helicopters. 82nd Airborne Division: Though more associated with airborne operations, the 82nd also incorporates air assault tactics.

    In summary, while there isn’t a specific Air Assault MOS, soldiers in several MOSs can earn the Air Assault Badge and participate in Air Assault operations, especially those in infantry or specialized combat roles.
